Link: Apply for the no annual fee Bilt Mastercard®
The Bilt Mastercard® (review) is a valuable no annual fee card that I recently picked up. The card lets you pay your rent by credit card and earn rewards, even if your landlord doesn’t ordinarily allow no-fee credit card payments. For us homeowners, you can potentially even pay your HOA this way.
There are many innovative things about Bilt, including that there’s a Bilt Rent Day promotion on the first day of each month. With February being right around the corner, we’ve just learned the details of the Bilt Rent Day promotion for February 2024, and it’s exciting. This potentially offers some amazing ways to redeem Bilt points.
In this post:
Details of the February Bilt Rent Day promotion
There are a couple of aspects to the Bilt Rent Day promotion, including the ability to earn bonus points (which is the same every month) plus one additional promotion.
Note that Bilt Rent Day promotions are generally valid from 12:00AM ET until 11:59PM PT, so technically you have around 27 hours to take advantage of them.
Earn 2-6x Bilt points on Rent Day purchases
Ordinarily the Bilt Mastercard earns 1-3x points per dollar spent, as you earn 3x points on dining, 2x points on travel, and 1x points on all other purchases. On the first day of each month, you earn double those rewards, meaning you earn 6x points on dining, 4x points on travel, and 2x points on all other purchases (except rent, where you earn 1x points).
With this offer, you can earn up to 10,000 bonus points each month. Keep in mind that you need to use your Bilt Mastercard five times each statement period in order to earn these points. It could be worth strategically making some purchases on the first day of each month to maximize this as much as possible.
Receive up to 150% Air Canada Aeroplan transfer bonus
We’ve frequently seen Bilt offer transfer bonuses on Rent Day, and the February 2024 Rent Day promotion is possibly the most exciting one yet. On February 1, 2024, you can receive a 75-150% transfer bonus with Air Canada Aeroplan. The percent bonus you receive depends on your Bilt elite status, as follows:
- Bilt Blue status offers a 75% transfer bonus
- Bilt Silver status offers a 100% transfer bonus
- Bilt Gold status offers a 125% transfer bonus
- Bilt Platinum status offers a 150% transfer bonus
Aeroplan is one of my all-around favorite frequent flyer programs, thanks to the huge variety of airline partners, the ability to have stopovers on one-way awards for 5,000 points, and the generally great online booking experience. In my opinion, this bonus is absolutely worth a speculative transfer.

Bottom line
On the first day of each month, those with the Bilt Mastercard can take advantage of the monthly Rent Day promotion. In addition to earning up to double points for purchases, for February 2024, there’s the opportunity to receive a 75-150% transfer bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan. This is probably the single most exciting credit card transfer bonus we’ve ever seen, so if you’re in a position to take advantage of this, I’d highly recommend doing so.
Do you plan on taking advantage of the Bilt Rent Day promotion for February?
Bilt Platinum status plus 100000 points to burn...yeah, 250K point on Aeroplan sounds great to me.
Bilt has been doing 2 to 2.5x transfer bonus. It is time to up their game and offer 5x transfer bonus
Surely any rent points by bilt is better than zero points by paying by cheque?
Check this out, gotta love the way they’re spinning it (to counter illicit trade, yeah sure)

Oh, sure, you can earn an extra 10k points per month on Rent Day. And, sure, you can transfer at 2.5X. But, it doesn't have a sign-up bonus. The naysayers can keep telling themselves that. I have scored massively with the Bilt Card and can't thank them enough.
I easily get a 70k signup bonus from paying rent, but congrats on your 10k. I don't need to keep telling myself anything, but you keep telling yourself that 10k>70k.
It's not an either/or. Absolutely do your SUBs. And, then, put your remaining spend on Bilt. 1X>2.5X. 2X>5X. 3X>7.5X. With spending on Rent Day, double those.
What remaining spend? I am almost always putting my spend towards a MSR, except maybe 5x categories. So yeah, it is either/or...either you're putting your spend towards a SUB, or you're not. You also wasted a 5/24 slot. So no thanks on your Bilt card.
I have stopped paying rent with Bilt since it doesn't count toward status anymore. It is back to checks and cash for me.
I am not following. Which status? BILT has its own status program that allows you greater transfer ratios/percentage when converting to other airline programs (Air Canada's Aeroplan on February 1st). For example on January 1st, I transferred 50,000 BILT points to Virgin Atlantic and got 100,000 Virgin Atlantic miles. Then I redeemed those for a roundtrip first class (Delta One) ticket on Delta Airlines JFK-MUC-JFK for all of USD $125 in taxes and fees. It...

And that was because I had BILT Gold Status.
